CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

Gentle, holistic support for pregnancy, postpartum, babies, children and parents
Â
Craniosacral therapy offers a nurturing, whole-body approach to releasing tension, calming the nervous system and supporting the body's natural capacity for balance and self-regulation.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) also incorporates facial unwinding and myofascial release. These tools are administered depending on the individual's needs. Treatments can be given to the parent and baby at the same time. These complementary approaches work with the body's physical structures, connective tissues (fascia) and nervous system, helping to address patterns of tension, stress and emotional holding in common problem areas such as the cranium, neck, limbs, sacrum, and hips.Â
Using gentle, attentive touch and subtle techniques, the sessions encourage the body to soften, unwind and reconnect with its natural rhythms.
Rather than forcing change, the work creates a safe and supportive environment in which the body can release tension at its own pace.
Each session is individualised, taking into consideration the person's physical needs, emotional wellbeing and stage of life. Treatments can be particularly supportive during pregnancy, following birth and throughout the early stages of a child's development.

Releasing Birth Trauma
Pregnancy and childbirth can leave tension in the pelvis, hips, back and abdomen, particularly after a caesarean or a difficult delivery. Craniosacral therapy uses light touch to encourage deep relaxation and help the nervous system move out of “survival mode”. Myofascial release and fascial unwinding work slowly and without force on tight connective tissue, helping the body let go of held tension, restore ease of movement and process the physical memory of the birth.

For Babies
Even a normal birth is a big physical event. Babies may carry tension in the head, (including a misshapen skull) neck, jaw and shoulders from the journey through the birth canal or from interventions such as forceps, vacuum or a caesarean. Very light CST touch aims to ease this tension, support the natural settling of the baby’s head shape after birth, and help the baby feel calmer, feed more comfortably and rest more easily.
