Paediatric first aid training is incredibly important as infants and children are much more susceptible to accidents, with one in two accidents occurring in a home environment.
Common hazards for young children include:

DEBBIE GATT
Debbie Gatt first became interested in First Aid during her time at the Girl Guides, and her accident-prone sister provided plenty of opportunities for Debbie to practice her skills! Debbie later went on to train and serve with the Emergency Fire and Rescue Unit, becoming a First Aid instructor and coordinator.
Now she is a First Aid instructor and First Aider with Emergency Malta, the leading private emergency ambulance company in Malta.
Debbie is passionate about helping parents learn how to recognise when their children need a First Aid intervention and how to administer it safely.
Why is it essential to deliver this course as CLASS BASED rather than online?
The MyMama team has designed this course to ensure that you not only learn the theory of what needs to be done in case of medical emergencies involving your child, but also PRACTICE the techniques and gain the CONFIDENCE that comes with practice. Some of the most important aspects of Paediatric First Aid training are related to choking and CPR which cannot be adequately taught online. Furthermore, meeting fellow parents and caregivers face to face enables conversation and sharing of personal experiences when addressing the different topics during the course - learning from each other is an added dimension to this course, which we love seeing with each group!

MyMama's Paediatric First Aid course is a standalone course that you can take without having previous first aid training, and it covers the techniques from infants to adult-sized kids or family members.
It has been designed with parents and caregivers in mind with the aim of teaching you how to THINK in the case of an emergency, know what to DO, but also understand how to PREVENT common accidents. And we deliver the content in a friendly, fear-free way!
You will learn about the following topics and PRACTICE how to administer the relevant potentially life-saving techniques:
- Infant and child resuscitation (CPR)
- Breathing difficulties
- Choking
- Trauma
- Assessment of injuries
- Recovery position
- Bleeds and shock management
- Seizures
- Anaphylaxis

The course is useful to parents, older siblings (aged 15+), grandparents, extended family members and caregivers.

What will you achieve following this PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID COURSE?
This practical course teaches the skills required to save the life of an infant or child in the event of an emergency.
