ANNA CATANIA

Anna Catania is a warranted counsellor and a qualified psychosexual and relationship therapist. She initially graduated with an Honours degree in Nursing then completed a Masters in Counselling degree graduating with Distinction. She continued her studies in sexual medicine and concluded successfully the European School of Sexual Medicine in Budapest which addresses various psychosexual issues through research based knowledge and practice. Following the school she specialised in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy, a level 7 qualification accredited by Middlesex University in London.

Anna works with individuals and couples who are facing relationship and sexual difficulties and has extensive experience working in the Health Sector. She is also a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta teaching undergraduate nursing, midwifery and psychology students.

She is currently the Chairperson of the Council for the Counselling Profession within the Ministry of Social Justice and Solidarity, the Family and Children’s Rights. She is a Senior Practicing Member of the Malta Association for the Counselling Profession, a registered member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (CORST) and the European Society for Sexual Medicine (ESSM). She believes in the importance of continuous professional development and dissemination of knowledge and research.
